Chiropractic care
Q&A with Dr. Bowden
Where did you grow up?
Pine Grove Ridge. It's a road in the middle of nowhere off of 164 between Bergholz and Salineville, OH.
Where did you graduate from?
I graduated from Edison High School. I attended JCC and WJU after High School.
I earned my Doctorate from Logan University in Chesterfield, MO.
How long have you been a Chiropractor?
I graduated from Logan in August 2013.
What types of conditions do you treat?
I treat all kinds of musculoskeletal conditions. Back pain, neck pain, and foot pain are the most common conditions that I evaluate.
What type of treatment methods do you use?
While I do use Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy for the majority of my patients, there are many that I only have perform exercises. I am a big advocate of active-based rehabilitation.
Can you order my MRI?
This depends on your insurance coverage. I have ordered everything from routine lab work and X-rays to brain MRI's and echocardiograms.
Do you use one of those handheld "clicky thingies"?
No. I have found those to have limited clinical application. I have heard some anecdotal evidence to suggest otherwise.
Do you do Acupuncture.
No. There is some evidence to suggest that Acupuncture is effective for treating certain conditions. I just do not have any interest in traditional Oriental medicine.
Do your patients have to come in forever?
I operate under a patient-centric model of care. I present the patient with what I believe is the best approach for their care. We discuss outcome expectations and develop a Plan of Care. I do not have patients that come in for maintenance care.
Where can a patient schedule an appointment?
I work side-by-side with the wonderful staff at Physical Therapy Associates. You can schedule an appointment with me at either the Wintersville or Toronto office by calling 740-264-9500.
